About

What is StortMUN?

StortMUN is a Model United Nations conference run by The Bishop's Stortford High School, in which students from around the world simulate the work of the United Nations and join together to find solutions to some of the most pressing issues taxing the world today. Each student represents the government of a country on one of 5 diverse committees, each attempting to tackle their own set of issues through diplomatic debate and discussion.

Why should you take part?

Model United Nations conferences are an engaging and exciting way of discussing issues that are prevalent on the world stage. In addition to this, StortMUN will be a fantastic opportunity to improve your public speaking skills, all while making international friendships that can last a life time.

When and where is it?

StortMUN will be taking place at The Bishop's Stortford High School, on November 7th 2015. Below is a map, along with instructions on how to find it.

From the Train Station: From the front of the station, follow the road straight out alongside the big station car park. At the end of the car park, (opposite The Fountain), turn left and start to head towards the town. You will go past a number of bus stops, the Rose & Crown Pub on your left, then over a small bridge. At the traffic lights, follow the road round to the left.

Now you walk along South Street for about 15 minutes. It is recommended that you cross over to the same side as the Post Office. Keep walking until you get to the Shell Garage on your left. When you get to the Shell Garage, continue in the same direction for 5 minutes. This will take you past the roundabout and at this point you will join London Road.

When you get there, the School's entrance will be on your right. Go through the main entrance and take the main driveway on the right up and round to the entrance and the reception.
